Junior School Teaching Assistant
Part-time position (0.8 FTE, Term time only) - Fixed Term for 1 Year
TAS is the only regionally based co‑educational GPS school in NSW and prides itself on the high quality of academic, boarding, and extensive co‑curricular programs. The International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) is offered in the Junior School (Pre‑Kindergarten to Year 5).
We are seeking an experienced educator to join our Junior School team as a Teaching Assistant. This role is designed to support classroom teachers and provide hands‑on assistance to students in the Junior School.
Position Requirements
* A commitment to supporting the academic, social, and emotional development of all students
* The ability to work effectively within a team and assist classroom teachers
* Experience providing teaching support in 1:1, small group, or whole class situations
* Knowledge of literacy and numeracy support strategies with the ability to implement specific learning support programs
* Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build strong relationships and engage with students, staff, and the school community
* Supportive of the Christian ethos of the School
* Willingness to assist with playground duties and contribute to the daily operation of the Junior School
* Relevant Education Support or other qualification (preferred)
* Previous experience in education (preferred)
