Overview
Senior Medical Practitioner – South West Inland, Western Australia – Country Health Service. This is a recruitment pool to fill Permanent (full-time/part-time/sessional) and/or Fixed Term appointments. Fixed Term employments include the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.
Remuneration
Senior Medical Practitioner Year 1 $377,207 – Year 3 $401,095 per annum; Rural Generalist Year 1 $382,342 – Year 5 $432,570 per annum (dependent on experience). Salary is inclusive of base salary under Arrangement A, 12% employer contributed superannuation, professional development allowance $34,696. Other allowances not included: penalty rates, On-call and recall.
Role and responsibilities
Step into a rewarding role as a Senior Medical Practitioner with WA Country Health Service – South West Inland, providing supervision, support, and training to junior doctors and clinical staff; contributing to a culture of continuous learning. Support for upskilling/reskilling for emergency medicine. Work with clinical teams at the Regional Resource Centre in Bunbury and statewide services including transport, telehealth, and mental health, ensuring patients receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time. Scope includes emergency and acute presentations, general ward management, aged care, rehabilitation, and palliative care. Engage in rural medicine, team-based care, and community connection.
Qualifications and experience
We are seeking clinicians—metropolitan or regional—looking to broaden clinical scope and gain rural experience.
Ideal candidates
* Eligible for General and/or Specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia.
* Fellowship with FRACGP and/or FACRRM or working towards same.
* Experience in Emergency Medicine or urgent care or willingness to upskill.
* Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication; negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
* Current C or C-A class driver's licence.
* Generalist Registrars encouraged to apply.
