We are seeking a passionate
Lecturer
to join our Faculty of Education and deliver high-quality teaching in our
Master of Teaching (Primary) program
. This role offers the opportunity to shape future primary teachers, contribute to curriculum innovation, and engage with industry partners to ensure our graduates are classroom ready.
Responsibilities & Duties
* Teaching Excellence
: Deliver engaging lectures, tutorials, and workshops in primary education, aligning with TEQSA requirements and AQF Level 9, and preparing for VIT standards.
* Student Support
: Mentor and supervise pre-service teachers during 60+ days of professional placements, fostering their academic and professional growth.
* Curriculum Development
: Collaborate with academic staff to design and update curricula that reflect contemporary pedagogies and industry expectations.
* Quality Assurance
: Contribute to internal reviews and ensure compliance with TEQSA standards, supporting continuous improvement in teaching and learning, while preparing for VIT accreditation.
* Scholarly Engagement
: Participate in professional development or applied research in areas like literacy, numeracy, or inclusive education to enhance program outcomes.
* Industry Collaboration
: Build relationships with schools and educational stakeholders to strengthen placement opportunities and graduate employability.
* Student Success
: Support student engagement and well-being through academic advising and inclusive teaching practices.
About You
To excel in this role, you will have:
Essential:
* PhD in education or a related field.
* Current or eligibility for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT).
* Proven experience teaching in primary schools or delivering teacher education programs.
* Strong understanding of TEQSA and AQF standards for primary education, with awareness of VIT standards.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage diverse student cohorts.
* Ability to design innovative, student-centered learning experiences using platforms like Moodle.
* High attention to detail and organizational skills to balance teaching, mentoring, and administrative tasks.
* Commitment to fostering an inclusive, collegiate academic environment.
Desirable:
* Experience in curriculum development or academic quality assurance.
* Familiarity with blended learning and educational technologies (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft 365).
* Evidence of scholarly activity, such as publications or conference presentations.
