Queensland Brain Institute Full-time fixed-term position through to end of 2027 Base salary will be in the range $140,293.65 - $161,518.33 17% Superannuation (Academic Level C) Based at our St Lucia Campus Shape the Future of Early Childhood Research We are seeking a Senior Research Fellow with expertise in applied statistics and developmental psychology to advance research in early childhood education, care experiences, and child development. This role offers the opportunity to strengthen your international profile while engaging in high-level collaboration with external partners and industry. Key responsibilities will include: Research: Maintain a strong record of high-quality research outputs, secure and manage research funding, lead independent and collaborative projects, translate research into policy, practice, or commercialisation, and apply best-practice methodologies. Supervision and Researcher Development: Act as Principal Supervisor for Higher Degree by Research students, mentor and develop researcher skills, manage staff performance effectively, and ensure responsible research conduct while resolving conflicts per University policies. Citizenship and Service: Demonstrate leadership and collaboration in line with UQ values, contribute to internal service and decision-making, build and sustain external partnerships with industry, government, and professional bodies, and support staff wellbeing and administrative processes. About You Completion of a PhD in the discipline area of Applied Statistics in Developmental Psychology An established profile in research in the discipline area, with a focus on understanding the effects of early childhood education and care and other early experiences on child development outcomes. National recognition in the area of expertise, with an internationally developing profile and an established record of publications in reputed refereed journal and presenting at conferences. A strong record of successfully seeking, obtaining and managing external research funding. A strong record of supervision of Honours and Research Higher Degree students to successful completion. A growing record of meaningful internal service roles in conjunction with a strong contribution to external activities The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including: right to work in Australia and education check.
