Position Overview
Technical 2 – Remuneration Package $77,974 - $87,925 (including salary $68,795 - $77,575). Parks and Wildlife Commission | Department of Tourism and Hospitality. Several ongoing (permanent) positions. Location: Alice Springs, Darwin, Katherine. NT Parks and Wildlife is seeking Wildlife Rangers to join our territory‑wide team.
Responsibilities
* Implement approved wildlife management programs, including but not limited to saltwater crocodiles and venomous snakes.
* Manage requests for assistance from the community regarding animals that pose a risk to public safety.
* Provide advice and guidance to callers and capture the animal (including venomous and non‑venomous snakes and flying foxes) as appropriate.
* Implement law‑enforcement and compliance activities with regard to the wildlife permit system and wildlife offences under the Territory Parks and Wildlife Conservation Act.
* Maintain electronic information, including databases and record systems for collating, processing and retrieving information on enforcement and compliance activities and wildlife management.
* Provide general advice to the community on wildlife management issues, legislation, policies and permits.
