Job Title: Data Platform Engineer - Cloud Data Architect
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Data Platform Engineer to join our high-performing Technology team. As a Data Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing a leading data platform offering.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design and implement data processing pipelines using Python and dbt in AWS.
* Optimise data models and transformations for performance and efficiency.
* Ensure data quality by implementing appropriate testing mechanisms.
* Collaborate with stakeholders to understand and meet their data requirement needs.
* Maintain documentation for data models, pipelines, and processes.
Requirements:
* Experience as a Data Platform Engineer or Developer preferably within financial services and/or superannuation fund industries.
* Strong proficiency in Python for data processing, ETL workflows, and scripting.
* Expertise in using dbt for data transformation, modelling, and documentation.
* Advanced SQL skills for querying and manipulating data.
* Knowledge/experience of AWS and Azure cloud services, including RedShift, Glue, DynamoDB, S3.
* Knowledge of data warehouse concepts and best practices.
* Knowledge of modern cloud data platforms and architectures.
* Excellent communication skills, presence, and gravitas.
* Tertiary qualifications in a Technology, Data science, Computer science, Engineering or related discipline.
* Certifications in AWS or Azure, Cloud, Big Data, Analytics, Data Science, Databases.
