Your Role
As a Student Support Officer at Fairbridge Western Australia Inc., you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and personal development of young people.
In this position based in Pinjarra, WA, you will be responsible for providing tailored assistance to students, helping them to achieve their goals and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
Offering one-on-one academic and pastoral support to students, identifying their needs and guiding them towards appropriate resources and services.
Developing and delivering engaging group activities, workshops and programs to enhance students' personal and life skills.
Maintaining detailed case notes and records to monitor student progress and ensure effective case management.
Liaising with teachers, parents/guardians and other stakeholders to coordinate a collaborative approach to supporting each student's wellbeing and development.
Actively participating in the planning and implementation of school holiday programs and other special events.
Promoting a safe, inclusive and nurturing environment that empowers students and fosters their confidence and self-esteem.
Criteria
Relevant tertiary qualification in education, social work, youth work or a related field.
Experience working with young people, particularly in a student support, mentoring or community development capacity.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and connect with students from diverse backgrounds.
Excellent organisational skills and the capacity to manage a varied caseload.
Demonstrated commitment to promoting inclusion, equity and positive outcomes for young people.
Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development and training.
Current Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance.
