Help Shape the Future of Demand Planning for a Leading Global Brand
Our client, a well-established global consumer goods business with a diverse product portfolio and a strong presence across ANZ, is seeking a driven and collaborative Demand Planner to join their Sydney-based team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work closely with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Regional HQ, driving improvements that will enhance forecasting accuracy, inventory health, and overall business performance.
The Opportunity
In this role, you'll play a pivotal part in elevating and refining the existing demand planning processes. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you'll help enhance how forecasts are developed, reviewed, and used—making them more accurate, agile, and aligned with market needs. By combining data-driven insights with strong collaboration, you'll drive continuous improvements that reduce inventory risk, improve service levels, and support smarter business decisions. Your influence will strengthen the connection between demand and supply, helping the business respond more effectively to customer and market dynamics.
Key Responsibilities
* Collaborate closely with Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, and Regional HQ to develop accurate rolling forecasts (12–18 months) that align with market trends and business goals.
* Lead and energise monthly Demand Review meetings within the S&OP framework, driving alignment and fostering proactive problem-solving across teams.
* Continuously analyse forecast accuracy (MAPE, BIAS) and lead initiatives to refine forecasting models and processes, ensuring the business operates with the most reliable demand insights.
* Identify opportunities to enhance demand planning tools, systems, and methodologies to boost efficiency, agility, and responsiveness.
* Dive deep into retailer POS data and market intelligence to adjust forecasts dynamically and anticipate shifts in consumer behaviour.
* Partner with Supply Planning to optimise inventory levels, reduce waste, and improve product availability — all while balancing risk and cost.
* Champion continuous improvement by proposing and implementing process enhancements that increase forecast accuracy, streamline workflows, and strengthen cross-functional collaboration.
* Support new product launches by creating aligned demand plans and coordinating closely with supply to ensure seamless introduction to market.
* Prepare insightful, data-driven reports and presentations for senior leadership, clearly communicating risks, opportunities, and actionable recommendations.
About You
* You bring 3–5 years of proven experience in Demand Planning, S&OP, or Supply Chain roles within FMCG, Consumer Goods, or closely related industries.
* You have a strong track record of delivering accurate forecasts and driving improvements in demand planning processes that have positively impacted business results.
* You're highly analytical with a sharp eye for detail and the ability to turn complex data into clear, actionable insights.
* You're proficient with demand planning tools (such as SAP APO, Oracle Demantra, Kinaxis, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
* Experience working with POS data and retailer analytics is an asset.
* You excel at building collaborative relationships across functions and influencing stakeholders to align on shared goals.
* You're proactive, with a continuous improvement mindset and a passion for driving smarter, more efficient planning processes.
Why This Role Stands Out
* Join a global business with a strong ANZ presence and an inclusive, supportive culture.
* Be part of a cross-functional team where your work directly impacts business outcomes.
* Gain exposure to regional and global planning practices.
* Enjoy hybrid working flexibility and a competitive package.
If you're looking for a role where you can make a measurable difference, not just by producing forecasts, but by working with the people and processes that make them happen, this is the opportunity for you.
