The Role
With branches located in Perth, Newman, Karratha and an onsite team in Collie, an opportunity has arisen for a full-time Purchasing Officer to join the team based in Hazelmere, Perth.
This is a high paced role requiring attention to detail and ability to manage changing priorities, key responsibilities include
- Sourcing and negotiating suppliers and/or subcontractors
- Sourcing and comparing quotes from OEM and aftermarket suppliers for heavy earthmoving and haulage equipment
- Assessing internal inventory records and issuing stock to meet job scope requirements
- Issuing purchase orders inline with purchasing policies and guidelines
- Tracking and expediting orders including back orders
- Arranging air/road freight of goods
- Ensuring all goods are receipted against Purchase Orders
- Providing parts outstanding reports for EOM progress recognition
- Processing and managing returns
- Managing major inventory records
- Job costing
Essential skills and qualifications for this role include:
- Minimum 3 years industry experience in a similar role
- Broad knowledge of earthmoving equipment and mechanical workshop operations including suppliers
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Solid reporting and computer skills
