Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified and experienced Chef to manage and support daily kitchen operations. The role involves menu planning, food preparation, staff supervision, and maintaining high standards of quality, hygiene, and efficiency in line with industry expectations.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, plan, and review menus in consultation with management, considering quality, variety, and cost control
• Monitor food quality throughout preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure consistency and standards
• Liaise with management and kitchen staff to discuss food preparation requirements, workflow, and service expectations
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety regulations
• Assist in selecting, training, and supervising kitchen staff as required
• Coordinate and organise daily kitchen operations to ensure efficient food preparation and timely service delivery.
• Prepare, season, and cook food using appropriate methods in accordance with menu requirements
• Demonstrate cooking techniques and provide guidance on food preparation and cooking procedures to kitchen staff
• Freeze, store, and preserve food items in accordance with food safety and storage guidelines
Qualifications & Experience
• AQF Certificate IV, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Associate Degree in a relevant field.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen environment.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, grilling techniques, and kitchen operations.
• Proven ability to supervise staff and manage kitchen workflows.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Good communication skills and a professional attitude.
