About the branch and role
We have an exciting opportunity for senior and experienced lawyers to join the Inquiries, Prosecutions & Administrative Law Branch (IPA) and provide high quality legal services and advice to the State and government clients.
The IPA Branch are industry leaders in Inquiries, Criminal Law and Investigations. These roles would give you the opportunity to explore different practice areas that you may not have worked in before that will challenge and excite you. We are seeking talented lawyers with experience in the following practice areas:

8. Investigations
9. Administrative and Public Law
10. Litigation
11. Criminal Law

These roles will predominately sit within the Inquiries Team and be involved in undertaking he following type of legal services:
12. Witness and hearing preparation
13. Briefing and instructing counsel
14. State submissions and strategic responses
15. Project management and reporting
16. Management of notices to produce including document review
17. Advice on privileges and immunities, such as public interest immunity
The team also shares work with the broader branch, including negligence claims and administrative law advices.
Skills and experience
18. Experience working on large scale litigation/public law matters
19. Knowledge and understanding of the practice and procedures applicable to public inquiries
20. Providing authoritative written and oral advice which is fit for purpose
21. Solid capability to perform complex legal research and analysis, including statutory interpretation
22. For Principal Solicitor level, demonstrated experience supervising and mentoring staff
23. Previous experience with document management/discovery related tasks
24. Demonstrated capability to work collaboratively in a team and build positive relationships with stakeholders
25. Ability to develop positive existing client relationships and establish new business opportunities
26. Superior time management skills and the ability to multi-task
