About the Role
This permanent full-time position plays a key role in serving the community through the coordination of internal and external meetings and workshops, engagement opportunities, and attending to community enquiries.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the landscape design and project delivery functions for the City's streetscape and public open space development programs.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide specialist Landscape Architectural planning, design, and project delivery advice to and on behalf of the organisation on urban enhancement projects including streetscape improvement schemes and public open space development.
* Prepare reports or presentations to Council, Executive, and community with regard to landscape design proposals suggested to be implemented within Mandurah.
* Undertake research, investigation, and evaluation of new products and services that may improve the amenity of public open space in Mandurah.
* Liaise with Built and Natural Environment staff, staff from other Directorates, developers, and residents to provide information, advice, and assistance with regard to landscape design.
* Lead and/or support community engagement processes initiated by the City related to the design of capital programs in City-managed Public Open Space.
* Provide project management support for the delivery of the City's annual Parks Open Space capital program.
* Strong project management skills with the ability to multi-task and manage complex timelines, ensuring agreed project targets are met and variations in delivery are effectively reported.
* Facilitate and/or support the procurement and contract-awarding process for projects, ensuring council policies are followed and adhered to.
* Manage procurement and tender processes, contract management, and project budgets.
* Review completed projects and report against how well they address the design parameters established by the initial project brief.
* Provide landscape assessment advice on detailed proposals, development applications, including POS, commercial, industrial, and multi-residential, and Building Licence applications from private developers.
* Lead and/or support master planning processes to inform and stage complex and long-term projects.
