Position Information
Cumberland High School (CHS) is a comprehensive high school, with a population of 1200 students, located in Carlingford. The school has a diverse cultural population including 73.9% non-English speaking background and 57 different languags. Our school is driven by the core values of Respect, Responsibility and Excellence. These values permeate the teaching and learning environment and provide the context that enables students to thrive and reach their potential. CHS promotes excellence in learning and the provision of collaborative leadership that supports rich curriculum offerings with a strong emphasis on student leadership, academic, cultural, music and sporting excellence. CHS is a Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) high school that provides strong whole-school wellbeing initiatives for all students including students from a non-English speaking background, high potential learners, students with additional learning needs and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
Selection Criteria
Approval to teach Food Technology and Technology Mandatory.
Ability to design and implement quality lessons that meet the needs of all students.
Capacity to contribute to the TAS faculty and other school teams to support student learning and wellbeing.
Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish positive, respectful relationships with students, staff and families.
Conditions
An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
