What You'll Be Doing
As a Data Engineer, you will design, implement, and optimize data pipelines for seamless data ingestion, processing, and storage. You'll collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to ensure high-quality, reliable data for various purposes. You will also contribute to the data engineering technology roadmap.
Key Responsibilities
1. Collaborate with teams to deliver data product requirements.
2. Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL data pipelines.
3. Translate requirements into technical documentation and promote a data-driven culture.
4. Evaluate and design solutions to meet team and business goals.
5. Review and optimize ELT pipelines for quality, performance, and cost-efficiency.
6. Contribute to data models, schemas, and dictionaries.
7. Support database administration and infrastructure activities.
8. Support devops, automation, and CI/CD processes.
9. Assist with data platform migrations and monitor system health.
10. Work with platform engineers to ensure pipeline reliability and troubleshoot infrastructure issues.
11. Manage CI/CD deployment of ELT pipelines.
12. Ensure data governance, privacy, and quality are embedded into pipelines.
13. Stay updated on industry practices and technologies.
Minimum Requirements
* Tertiary qualifications in IT or related fields; relevant certifications preferred.
* 2–4 years' experience in data operations, engineering, or database management.
* Strong SQL and relational database skills (Snowflake preferred).
* Proficiency in Python programming.
* Experience with data orchestration tools (Airflow preferred).
* Knowledge of data modeling and analytics engineering (DBT preferred).
* Understanding of data management principles.
* Experience designing data solutions and pipelines.
* Familiarity with CI/CD principles and tools.
* Stakeholder engagement and influence skills.
* Analytical, problem-solving skills, and adaptability.
* Experience with big data and cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
* Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and DevOps advantageous.
* Commitment to continuous learning.
* Effective communication and time management skills.
* Ability to work both independently and in teams.
