Digital Canberra is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Microsoft Identity Management Specialist to join the Technology Services Branch within the Customer, Data and Technology Group.
The Technology Services Branch implements and manages the ACT Government’s core ICT platforms and services that underpin service delivery across government. This includes the enterprise identity, access, and directory services that form the foundation of secure and reliable digital government.
In this role, you will provide day‑to‑day support, development and integration of Microsoft Active Directory and Identity environments, including high‑availability solutions and the underlying Windows platform, in a large enterprise, multi‑tenant environment. You will play a key role in designing, implementing and supporting identity and access management solutions across a complex and evolving technology landscape, working closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
You will provide high‑level technical expertise across Microsoft Active Directory (including Azure AD), Microsoft Identity Manager (MIM/FIM), Windows Server platforms, PowerShell automation, cloud technologies, and virtualised environments. You will contribute to continual service improvement by diagnosing complex faults, implementing remedial actions, and identifying opportunities to better leverage identity technologies to improve business processes and service delivery.
This role does not involve direct supervision of staff; however, you will work collaboratively as part of a specialist technical team and may be required to participate in an after‑hours on‑call roster.

Note: This position is based at a workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
