The Opportunity
We are seeking an Apprentice Heavy Vehicle Spray Painter to join our team at Western Truck Repairs.
As an Apprentice Heavy Vehicle Spray Painter, you will work under the guidance of experienced Spray Painters to develop the skills and techniques required to produce high-quality finishes on heavy vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
* Clean, sand, and mask vehicle surfaces to prepare them for painting
* Mix and match paint colours to achieve accurate colour matching
* Apply paint evenly and smoothly using spray guns and other equipment
* Apply primers and sealers to promote paint adhesion, prevent rust, and create a solid foundation for the topcoat
* Apply multiple layers of paint, including basecoat, clearcoat, and special coatings
* Skilfully blend new paint into existing areas
* Perform detailed touch-ups to correct imperfections
* Create special textures, patterns, or effects using different techniques
* Monitor and control drying and curing processes
* Inspect painted surfaces for flaws
* FOLLOW SAFETY PROTOCOLS, USE PROPER VENTILATION, AND ENSURE A SAFE WORKING ENVIRONMENT
