About the Role
* NILS provides fair, no‐interest loans for essential household items and services
* You'll be the first point of contact for clients
* Guide clients through the application process withempathy and respect
* Support clients to understand the scheme and gather required documentation
* Help clients feel heard, supported, and respected
What You'll Be Doing
* Responding to client enquiries by phone and face‐to‐face
* Explaining how the No Interest Loan Scheme works
* Conducting initial client interviews in a safe, supportive environment
* Assisting clients to gather and organise loan documentation
* Accurately recording client information in the NILS database
* Maintaining confidentiality, privacy, and a non‐judgmental approach
* Working closely with the Financial Wellbeing team and Coordinator
Every interaction contributes to a positive client experience and meaningful community outcomes.
About You
You are someone who:
* Communicates clearly, respectfully, and with empathy
* Remains calm and professional in challenging situations
* Is confident using computers, databases, and Microsoft Office
* Can review basic financial information such as income and expenses
* Values ethics, privacy, and supporting vulnerable communities
Experience in customer service or working with people facing hardship is valued but not essential, training and support are provided.
Time Commitment
* Weekdays only
* Flexible hours negotiated to suit you
* 3‐month trial period, with ongoing annual reviews
Requirements
* Current National Police Clearance
* DHS Working With Children Check
* DHS NDIS Worker Screening Check
* Proof of eligibility to volunteer in Australia
* Willingness to complete required training and professional development
