Join our dynamic Outpatient Cancer Care Day Unit Social Work Team at CCLHD, as a Social Worker NSW Health Professional Award (HPA) Level 3. You will play a crucial role in supporting patients and their families in their emotional and psychosocial response to experiencing oncology diagnosis and treatment, supporting patient and families/carers as they navigate their journey with optimal care and support.
About the Role
The Cancer Day Unit is based at Gosford Hospital where you will be working with a highly skilled and motivated multi-disciplinary team dedicated to patient centred and trauma informed care.
The Senior Clinician will work with the multidisciplinary team, senior managers, internal and external service partners and other inpatient social workers to ensure the delivery of effective and proactive social work services and psychosocial care, as well as provide senior leadership to fellow inpatient social workers, proactive service development, education, and supervision.
About You
You will have:
1. A Bachelor of Social Work degree, with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and a demonstrated understanding of the current AASW Practice Standards as they relate to the position.
2. Demonstrated high level of assessment and reasoning skills that enhance the service's ability to manage more complex clients within emotionally intense situations, and demonstrated skills and knowledge in addressing the needs of carers.
3. Significant demonstrated experience in the area of oncology / cancer care and a well-developed understanding of the psycho-social impact of these health conditions and demonstrated experience in the range of related social work interventions required in community social work clinical practice.
4. Demonstrated ability to work as a member of an interdisciplinary team and skills to support clinical leadership within a team.
