Our client continues to expand across the country, and are looking for an experienced Accountant to join the team in Wollongong and take full ownership of the internal financial operations.
About the Role
This is a hands-on position that requires a detail-oriented and experienced accountant to carry out and oversee all day-to-day accounting functions across multiple business units. You'll be directly responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bookkeeping, compliance, reporting, and more.
You will report to, and work closely with the General Manager and Company Directors to provide financial insights, reporting and liaise with our external accounting team to ensure smooth tax planning and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out and manage all aspects of accounts payable and receivable across the business
Manage bank reconciliations, general ledger, and financial records
Process and oversee payroll, superannuation, PAYG, and workers comp calculations
Complete payroll tax calculations and lodge relevant submissions
Prepare BAS and liaise with external accountants to finalise and submit
Produce monthly management reports including profit & loss, and cash flow statements
Prepare budgets and forecasts for management review
Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation schedules
Liaise regularly with the General Manager and Directors for financial oversight
Collaborate with external accountants
Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimisation
About You
Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
Strong hands-on experience in end-to-end accounting, including payroll, AP/AR, and financial reporting
Confident using Xero and cloud-based finance tools (Hubdoc or similar)
High level of attention to detail and organisation
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Self-motivated, trustworthy, and capable of managing deadlines independently
Experience in a multi-entity or multi-division environment is highly regarded
A genuine interest in contributing to the success of a growing national business
