Position Overview:
We are seeking a mature reliable nanny to join our team as a nanny. The primary responsibility of this role is to provide attentive and nurturing care for our clients children in a safe and stimulating environment. The ideal candidate should have experience working with children, possess excellent interpersonal skills, and be dedicated to creating a positive and enriching atmosphere.
Responsibilities:
1. Create a Safe Environment:
- Ensure the safety and well-being of the children at all times.
- Implement appropriate safety measures, including childproofing the house/apartment.
- Monitor indoor/outdoor activities to prevent accidents or injuries.
2. Supervision and Care:
- Engage in age-appropriate activities that promote physical, intellectual, emotional, and social development.
- Follow the parents' guidelines regarding schedules, routines, discipline techniques, etc.
- Provide assistance with homework assignments or school projects as needed.
- Prepare nutritious meals/snacks for the children following any dietary restrictions or preferences.
3. Daily Tasks:
- Supporting the family in care of the children
- Supporting the family in housekeeping duties
4. Communication:
- Maintain open communication channels with parents/guardians regarding daily updates on the children's activities, achievements, concerns, etc.
- Report any emergency situations immediately to the business and parents/guardians or relevant authorities if necessary.
5. Housekeeping Duties:
- Perform light housekeeping duties related to childcare (e.g., tidying up toys/play areas after use).
- Launder children's clothes/bedding when required.
- Keep common areas used by the children clean and organized.
Requirements:
To be eligible for this position with Babysitters on Demand you will need to
- Be a permanent resident of Australia and reside in the Perth / Joondalup Area
- Be at least 27 years of age with a reliable method of transportation
- Have previous experience working with infants/toddlers/children (provide references if applicable) and a currently valid Working With Children Check (WWCC) certificate
- Have valid CPR and First Aid certifications for children (or be willing to obtain before commencing work)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability to changing situations
- Ability to multitask effectively, prioritize tasks, and manage time efficiently
- High level of patience, kindness, and genuine love for children
- Respect for cultural diversity and ability to create a welcoming environment.
Working Conditions:
This is a part-time role that may require flexibility in your schedule, including evenings, weekends, or holidays. The position will be based primarily at the clients home but might occasionally involve accompanying the children on outings or appointments.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: Up to $35.00 per hour
