Project Officer - Program Management Office

ACARA is seeking a Project Officer – Project Management Office position to support the National Assessment Program (NAP) work program and digital transformation initiatives to support the next phase of online national assessment in Australia.

Location: National role.

Responsibilities

- Provide high-level assistance to and work closely with the Manager, manage and monitor all aspects of the project planning and implementation of the allocated projects / project components and program work streams.
- Manage and coordinate day to day operations including establishing and maintaining project documentation and schedules to ensure all planned deliverables are achieved.
- Develop effective plans and procedures and work with ACARA Assessment and Reporting teams to ensure they are implemented to support a smooth transition of NAP online delivery technologies.
- Contribute to program oversight, governance and reporting functions including identification and addressing project delivery issues, assessment of project progress and effectiveness, risk identification and management, contingency plan and implementation of quality assurance measures.

Qualifications

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, project and/or change management, public administration, policy or similar are desirable.
- Experience in project management and policy environment
- High level initiative and organisational management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to identify improvements, determine priorities, multi-task and effectively and efficiently meet timelines.
- Experience in the delivery of projects or programs in a high-profile policy environment with established governance processes and reporting, including the development of presentations, briefings and papers for senior officers.
- Positive problem solving and critical thinking skills, and the ability to coordinate multi-task and coordinate between internal and external stakeholders
- Proven ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as a member of a diverse team of professionals with minimal supervision.

Salary and benefits

ACARA offers an attractive salary package dependent on the skills and experience of the successful candidate, commencing at $94,450 base per annum, as a full-time equivalent (plus superannuation).
