This role has overall responsibility for the management and leadership of a Haematology department. The successful candidate will oversee the quality, cost, and operational integrity of the department.
* Responsibilities include:
* A Bachelor Degree or higher degree in Science/Medical Laboratory Science or an equivalent qualification
* Extensive high level knowledge of working within a Haematology section of the laboratory with knowledge of operation and maintenance of analytical equipment in a pathology laboratory
* A customer-focused approach displaying well-developed interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills
The candidate must be able to manage scientific, technical, and support staff, testing activities, logistics, and human resources effectively. They should have excellent managerial skills and be able to implement quality systems efficiently.
A functional assessment prior to appointment is required, where the candidate will demonstrate understanding of accreditation frameworks, relevant standards, and quality systems.
