Lead Electrical Engineer
About the Role
This is a leadership position where you will be responsible for leading technical delivery, guiding junior engineers and supporting field activities.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead EI&C design, review, and approval activities across electrical, instrumentation, and control systems.
* Prepare drawings, schematics, work packs, test plans, and technical documentation.
* Ensure compliance with Australian Standards and internal quality assurance processes.
* Support installation, programming, calibration, troubleshooting, and commissioning of PLCs, VFDs, instrumentation, and networking equipment.
* Manage technical delivery of assigned projects, including procurement support and expediting materials.
* Liaise with clients on technical matters and respond to RFIs.
* Mentor junior engineers, review their work, and provide day-to-day guidance.
Requirements:
* 6-10 years of industrial EI&C engineering experience.
* Hands-on commissioning and industrial site experience.
* Strong EI&C design capability and ability to interpret drawings and engineering documents.
* Proficient with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and common PLC/SCADA platforms.
* Solid understanding of Australian Standards and awareness of QLD RPEQ requirements.
* RPEQ registered or progressing toward it.
* Strong communication skills, clear documentation ability, and confidence working with clients and technicians.
* Bachelor of Engineering (electrical or related discipline).
* Valid driver's license.
* Must have full-working rights in Australia.
