We're looking for a Rural Reporter with a passion for storytelling, strong editorial judgement, and a deep understanding of the issues shaping life in regional Australia.
You'll work across multiple platforms, help set the news agenda, and contribute to one of the ABC's most engaged audience networks.
The Job Create engaging rural and primary industry stories for radio, digital, and social platforms.
Prepare and present content for the Rural Report and Country Hour.
Identify, pitch, and develop content ideas that reflect the diversity and complexity of rural Australia.
Collaborate with ABC teams to share and distribute stories across the network.
Build relationships within local communities to uncover original, relevant and distinctive stories.
Uphold ABC editorial standards, values and safety policies.
Position Description: About You You're a curious, community minded storyteller who's passionate about rural Australia and committed to representing its diversity with accuracy and respect.
You'll have: Demonstrated creativity in content construction, storytelling and live broadcast presentation.
Proven editorial skills, including strong judgement and the ability to source and analyse information.
A solid understanding of rural and regional issues that matter to audiences.
A valid Driver's Licence and the flexibility to travel as required.
