Practical Aquaculture Specialist
This role is pivotal in supporting the production of high-quality, disease-free broodstock as part of our P. monodon (Black Tiger Prawn) breeding program.
Job Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining optimal hatchery operations under the guidance of the Senior Technicians and biosecurity compliance to prevent disease outbreaks.
Key Responsibilities:
* Ensure strict adherence to water quality testing and system checks to maintain ideal conditions for prawn health
* Accurately document hatchery activities, including water quality, feed logs, and animal health observations
* Maintain records of daily tasks, feeding regimes, and general care of prawns
This is a hands-on role that combines animal husbandry, technical skills, and a commitment to sustainable aquaculture.
Requirements:
* Previous work in aquaculture or a related field is desirable but not essential
* Willingness to learn basic hatchery operations and water quality testing
* Ability to follow procedures meticulously and identify potential health or system issues
* Capable of performing manual tasks in a physically demanding environment
