This role is ideal for a proactive professional with a background in health management and environmental health.
The successful candidate will conduct inspections of food and public health premises, enforce regulatory compliance, and contribute to ongoing community health projects.Key responsibilities include: Inspecting food premises and other public health wellbeing venues to ensure compliance with relevant legislation Enforcing health and safety regulations in line with applicable Acts and Codes of Practice Preparing detailed reports following inspections and investigations Engaging with management, community groups, and authorities to promote health standards Advising on environmental health issues such as land capability, drainage, and wastewater systems Supporting and developing public education campaigns around health and safety Managing complaints and mediating conflicts related to community health matters About You The ideal candidate will bring strong experience, skills, and a passionate approach to community health.
You will have: Several years' experience as an EHO within Victoria, with solid knowledge of health legislation and compliance enforcement Experience in health management, ideally with knowledge of broader environmental issues Qualification in EHO training or HACCP certification Experience dealing with environmental health concerns such as landslip, land capability assessments, drainage, and wastewater systems Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels A strong ability to enforce regulations tactfully and diplomatically A current Victorian driver's licence and eligibility to work in Australia Membership or eligibility to join Environmental Health Australia This is a great opportunity to make a real difference in public health through a full-time, hands-on role.
