About The Opportunity
Camden Hospital is seeking a Clinical Nurse Educator to provide leadership, education, and support across the Rehabilitation Unit (CRU) and Medical Transit Unit (MTU). This is an autonomous, more senior style role, and is a key part of Camden's leadership team, requiring expertise in Aged Care and Rehabilitation.
With a team of over 40 staff across two wards, this role is vital in delivering education and training programs, supporting quality initiatives, and guiding students and current nursing professionals. The Clinical Nurse Educator will also contribute to patient education as part of their rehabilitation goals and program.
Key Highlights Of The Role
* Leadership position requiring autonomy and initiative
* Support staff across two wards with education, mentorship, and training
* Work Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, providing supporting across various staff rosters
* Deliver education to patients to enhance their understanding and empower them in self care
* Foster professional growth while supporting students and current nursing staff
* Drive quality programs to ensure excellence in nursing practice
The Clinical Nurse Educator must be comfortable working independently and driving initiatives forward.

Camden Hospital, located in the small, rural town of Camden, is part of the diverse, South Western Sydney Local Health District.
This small hospital provides care to the local community in the fast growing Camden LGA. The hospital has a great team of dedicated staff who work as a close knit team to ensure the needs of the community are met and there is safe, quality and compassionate care provided to all patients who visit the hospital.
Camden Hospital works with its sister hospital at Campbelltown and specialises in select clinical services for older persons with acute or chronic health conditions, namely rehabilitation, palliative care, geriatric evaluation and management, and psychogeriatric care.
Camden Hospital also maintains an eight-bed 24 hour Level 2 Emergency Department, and is the home site of the University Medical Clinic of Campbelltown and Camden (where specialist outpatient consultations are provided)

* Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a post graduate qualification in training and assessment and aged care/rehabilitation, or a combination of education training and clinical experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD. Completion of, or being enrolled in, train the trainer programs for Basic Life support, Aseptic Technique and manual Handling, will be desirable.
* Provide an example of your understanding of competency-based assessment with experience in education / clinical teaching and developing clinical programs based on adult learning principles.
* Demonstrated ability to work autonomously, while overseeing a large group of staff members
* Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team.
* Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise
* Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of evidenced based nursing care
* Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
