Opportunity
This is a senior, field-based commercial role responsible for managing and growing key accounts across Queensland, while actively driving new business within industries reliant on temporary and permanent power solutions.
Based predominantly on the road, you will spend the majority of your time visiting customers, sites and projects across metro and regional QLD, with occasional time in office (Brisbane's Northern Suburbs) for team engagement, planning and coordination.
The role focuses on the sale and rental of diesel generators, lighting towers, load banks and power-distribution systems, supporting customer projects from early scoping through to delivery, commissioning and after-sales support.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and expand a portfolio of key accounts across construction, civil infrastructure, mining, industrial facilities, utilities and government sectors throughout QLD
Proactively identify new projects, shutdowns, tenders and short-term rental opportunities to maintain a strong, forward-looking pipeline
Promote and articulate the value of diesel generators, lighting towers and temporary-power solutions to a wide range of technical and commercial stakeholders
Build trusted relationships with project managers, construction managers, site supervisors, procurement teams, contract administrators, shutdown coordinators, maintenance managers, HSE personnel, electrical and mechanical contractors, asset managers, facilities managers and operations leaders
Conduct regular site visits to assess power requirements, operating conditions and risk profiles, recommending fit-for-purpose equipment configurations
Prepare detailed quotations, rental proposals and complete power-generation solutions tailored to each customer's operational environment
Work closely with internal operations, logistics and technical service teams to ensure accurate equipment selection, timely delivery, commissioning support and high service standards
Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasting, pipeline management and project tracking to support internal planning and customer expectations
Benefits
Base salary: $120,000 – $135,000 + super (commensurate with experience)
Sales commission: 1% of invoice value for rental sales (excluding GST)

Candidate Profile
Experience in power generation, industrial equipment sales, capital equipment, or hire-industry key account management, ideally within construction, civil, mining, resources or heavy industry
Demonstrated success selling to project managers, engineering teams, procurement leads, operations managers, shutdown planners, maintenance managers and electrical/mechanical contractors
Comfortable managing both long-cycle capex opportunities and fast-turnaround rental requirements
Strong technical aptitude, with the ability to understand generator sizing, load requirements, power distribution and site constraints
Self-motivated and highly organised, capable of working autonomously in the field while maintaining clear communication with internal teams
Commercially minded, proactive and driven to identify new opportunities and expand existing accounts
Confident communicator able to build rapport with stakeholders from site level through to senior management
