About the Role
We're seeking a Company Accountant to join our finance team on a full-time basis.
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you'll play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting operations, supporting financial reporting, compliance, and strategic decision-making across the business.
This role suits a hands-on accountant ready to step up into a broader position with ownership of month-end, compliance, and process improvement initiatives, including involvement across both Australian and New Zealand entities.

Key Responsibilities
* Deliver monthly reporting (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
* Deliver month-end close to tight deadlines
* Prepare and lodge BAS, payroll tax, and FBT
* Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and GL integrity
* Coordinate insurance renewals/claims and workers compensation declarations
* Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and insurers
* Support the annual audit and statutory reporting process
* Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
* Oversee accounting for NZ subsidiary (GST, PAYE, intercompany)
* Drive continuous improvement in systems and reporting (NetSuite ERP)
* Perform other reasonable duties as required by the financial controller
Skills and Experience
* Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Commerce (CPA/CA desirable or in progress)
* 4+ years' experience in financial accounting and compliance
* Strong month-end reporting, BAS, payroll tax, and reconciliation skills
* High attention to detail and process improvement mindset
* Excellent communication skills with both finance and non-finance stakeholders
* Proactive and able to manage competing priorities
* Use initiative to provide solutions to problems as they arise
* Experience with NetSuite ERP highly regarded
* Background in distribution, supply chain, or engineering advantageous
Experience That Will Be Highly Valued
* Implementation and integration of ERP systems (especially NetSuite or similar cloud based platforms)
* Preparation of consolidated accounts across multiple entities and subsidiaries
* NZ entity accounting and compliance, including GST, PAYE, and intercompany transactions
