The Role
APS 6 Financial Reporting Officers/Management Accountants are accountable for undertaking complex budgeting, analysis of data to determine financial performance and reporting. Operating under broad direction, they will be accountable for ensuring the Commonwealth financial compliance and legislative frameworks are delivered, and to support government decision-making in alignment with Defence’s mission and policy requirements.
An APS 6 may lead a team and be accountable to set work priorities manage workflows and the associated people and financial responsibilities to achieve work unit outcomes. They are expected to be capable of building team capability through coaching, feedback and developing the quality of work undertaken by others within a work unit.
The position is based in Alan Woods Building, Canberra - ACT. Remote work arrangements may be considered for the successful applicants.
About our Team
The Chief Engineer and Portfolio Management Office (CEPMO) is situated within the Office of DEPSEC Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG). The branch provides governance and assurance of Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment delivery activities, spanning Engineering, Technology and Materiel Logistics functions, Portfolio Governance, Resource Management and Corporate Systems.
The directorate of Resource Management provides a wide range of services to support the Group and support the achievement of financial and resource obligations, provide guidance on policy, process, and professionalisation. Identifies systemic risks, issues, and opportunities, to inform senior leadership group decision making.
