We are looking for fit, male Support Workers with clear spoken and written English to support with teenagers with disabilities. We are currently looking for Support Workers willing to work in two locations, in-home in Whittlesea and at our Respite Facility in Officer (Near Pakenham).
We are Armytage Childrens Retreat, we provide Respite [STA] on a small farm in Officer, Victoria along with In Home Care/Community Participation. We are looking for some new superstar support workers to join our quickly growing team. We primarily support children and young people; we specialise in working with individuals with high behaviours of concern and intensive support needs.
The role is supporting participants in their everyday tasks (personal care, cooking, assisting with emotional regulation) along with general cleaning and engaging in activities. The participant we are currently looking for supports for is non-verbal but can communicate using his iPad's communication app. He understands instructions and his wider support team are working with him to learn Auslan signs for communication.
We are looking for staff who have a great understanding of Autism, are able to stay calm in stressful situations, and are reliable and willing to work afternoons/weekends. You will also need a current Victorian Drivers Licence along with your own car & insurances as transportation of the participant will sometimes be required.
***All interviews and shadow shifts will take place in Officer, Victoria 3809, if you can not travel to this location you will not be suitable for this role***
