Merchandise Planner - Kidswear
A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Merchandise Planner to join the Kidswear department where you'll play a pivotal role in developing and delivering the strategy for one of the key categories at David Jones.
The Merchandise Planner is a crucial member of the team that develops and drives the overall category strategy. Reporting to the Commercial Operations Manager, this role is focused on developing effective merchandise strategies, creating sound financial plans to increase profitability, and working with iconic brands.

What does the role involve?
* Establish, implement, manage, and report on sales, profit and stock to agreed KPI's
* Manage OTB and purchase order authorisation
* Ensure that the distribution of OTB across size, colour and cluster mix reflects historical data so that financial results are optimised
* Implement assortment planning process in conjunction with the Buyer
* In conjunction with the buying teams, develop strong commercial relationships with suppliers
* Engage with and influence internal business partners to implement merchandise strategy
What are we looking for?
* Demonstrated experience working as a Merchandise Planner with OTB management capabilities
* Strong numerical and analytical skills
* Demonstrably strong retail and commercial acumen
* A proven ability to work alongside a range of key senior stakeholders in to achieve business outcomes
* An ability to meet deadlines and work within a fast-paced environment whilst balancing competing interests
* Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to influence stakeholders across the organisation
* Degree qualifications within a Finance or Business discipline
