A values-driven, not-for-profit aged care organisation based in Melbourne's south-east is seeking a Finance Business Partner to support its growing Support at Home and aged care services.
This is a hands-on role ideal for a commercially minded accountant who enjoys variety, thrives in change, and is comfortable stepping in wherever needed. Experience in
home care / community aged care
is highly desirable, with residential exposure considered a bonus rather than essential.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and compliance across government-funded aged care programs. You'll partner closely with operational leaders to provide meaningful insights, strengthen financial capability, and support decision-making across the organisation.
This role suits someone adaptable, collaborative, and comfortable working in a dynamic environment where priorities can shift.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and ongoing financial performance monitoring
* Prepare and review monthly journals and manage month-end close processes
* Compile monthly management reports with clear analysis and commentary
* Partner with operational and program managers to deliver value-driven reporting
* Prepare balance sheet and sub-ledger reconciliations
* Cash flow forecasting and financial analysis
* Contribute to Quarterly Financial Reports (QFR) and Aged Care Financial Reports (ACFR)
* Manage BAS preparation and submission
* Support government funding, grant and ad hoc compliance reporting
* Compile data for sector benchmarking and audit readiness
About You
You are a flexible, solutions-focused accountant who enjoys working closely with non-finance stakeholders and can comfortably balance operational detail with higher-level analysis.
You Will Ideally Bring
* Proven experience in management accounting, reporting and budgeting
* Aged care experience, with a strong preference for home care / community care exposure
* Understanding of government-funded or grant-based environments
* Strong Excel capability and experience with financial systems
* Working knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and compliance requirements
* A collaborative mindset and willingness to take on varied responsibilities
