The Role
The Manager will provide clinical and operational oversight of the Sunshine Coast program. The program will provide case management and intensive short-term residential programs for at-risk youth and young offenders. The Manager will lead a multidisciplinary team, ensuring the delivery of therapeutic and life skills programs within a short-term residential setting, while maintaining a protected, supportive environment for staff and clients. A key focus will be on implementing the Therapeutic Community Treatment model, overseeing client referrals, staff management, and fostering productive relationships with external stakeholders. Flexibility in working hours and a commitment to quality and ethical practices are essential.
- Lead the development and execution of clinical aspects of the residential program.
- Develop and implement short-term intensive interventions addressing underlying issues of youth crime, aiming to reduce recidivism and increase connections to education, employment, and community.
- Provide leadership to a multidisciplinary team, including counsellors and youth workers, and coordinate daily program activities.
- Ensure the Therapeutic Community model is implemented within a residential setting.
- Deliver the program to the highest standards in alignment with program plans and funding requirements.
- Oversee client referral and intake coordination in line with established policies and procedures.
- Manage staff, including recruitment, development, and performance appraisals.
- Oversee weekly staff and program rosters.
- Facilitate consultative meetings with relevant individuals and organisations.
- Maintain and refine infrastructure and systems for program operations.
- Oversee the management of the grounds and facilities.
- Provide strategic advice by identifying trends, opportunities, and service enhancements for the Foundation.
- Develop and maintain productive relationships with NGOs and government departments.
- Assist in building program budgets and ensure operations stay within budget.
- Oversee and supervise all staff, students, and volunteer placements within the project.
- Prepare required reports and administrative documentation.
- Maintain data collection, client records, and financial systems as required.
- Ensure the household environment is safe, supportive, harassment-free, and promotes a positive atmosphere.
- Maintain compliance with all legal and ethical standards.
Qualifications
- Qualifications and experience in working with young people with alcohol and/or other drug-related difficulties.
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate a residential treatment service and to motivate, lead and supervise a multidisciplinary staff team.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Therapeutic Community Standards and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention.
- Knowledge and experience of good counselling practice.
- Strong analytical, written and financial literacy skills with the ability to manage budgets, analyse data, and write reports.
- Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills with the ability to form strategic sector and community relationships.
- Commitment to harm minimisation and to the aims of the Ted Noffs Foundation.
- Current and valid QLD Blue Card and Driver’s Licence.
