About the role
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Full Time Head Chef to join our team at Cosmos Cocktail Lounge in Port Douglas, QLD. As the Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all culinary operations, creating innovative menus, and leading a team of talented chefs to deliver an exceptional dining experience for our guests. This is a full-time position with opportunities for career progression within the company.
What you'll be doing
* Developing and implementing seasonal menus that showcase your creativity and expertise in Hospitality & Tourism
* Managing the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, inventory management, and quality control
* Hiring, training, and supervising a team of chefs and kitchen staff to ensure efficient and consistent food production
* Collaborating with the management team to create and execute marketing and promotional strategies for the restaurant
* Ensuring compliance with all health, safety, and food hygiene regulations
* Continuously seeking ways to improve processes, reduce costs, and enhance the customer experience
What we're looking for
* Experience as a Head Chef or in a similar senior culinary role within the Chefs/Cooks industry
* Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a talented kitchen team
* Exceptional culinary skills and a deep understanding of various cooking techniques, flavour profiles, and presentation styles
* Ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain a high level of efficiency and organisation in a fast-paced environment
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with the front-of-house team and management
* Passion for using fresh, locally sourced ingredients and creating innovative, flavourful dishes
* Relevant qualifications in Culinary Arts or a related field
