We are seeking a passionate and motivated Assistant Manager to join our team. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll oversee daily operations, support and inspire the team, and deliver exceptional experiences for our guests.

Your Role
As Assistant Manager, you’ll work alongside the Venue Manager to ensure smooth day-to-day operations at the Marina Tavern. From leading the front-of-house team to overseeing compliance and guest service, your leadership will help shape a dynamic, service-driven culture.
Where you’ll make an impact
- Lead, motivate, and support a high-performing hospitality team
- Deliver outstanding guest experiences in a fast-paced environment
- Oversee rostering, shift planning, and team performance management
- Ensure compliance with licensing, health, and safety regulations
- Manage gaming operations including Keno, TAB, and pokies
- Handle stock control, ordering, and accurate inventory management
- Assist in achieving financial and operational goals
- Resolve guest inquiries and issues with professionalism and care
What we’re looking for
You are an energetic hospitality professional with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering memorable customer experiences. To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in a supervisory or assistant manager role in hospitality (tavern or pub experience highly regarded)
- Solid communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to thrive under pressure in a busy, fast-paced environment
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and public holidays
- Essential certifications: RSA, RCG, RMLV (Responsible Management of Licensed Venue), and valid driver’s licence
- Knowledge of gaming operations -Keno, TAB, pokie machines - essential
