Job Description
As a Senior Cost Manager, you will be responsible for leading the cost management and estimating process for engineering systems across major construction and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and deliver accurate and detailed cost plans for building services (mechanical, electrical, fire, hydraulics)
* Lead pre- and post-contract cost management services on high-value projects
* Provide guidance on procurement strategies, risk management, and value engineering to ensure optimal project outcomes
* Conduct benchmarking, feasibility studies, and design cost analysis to inform decision-making
* Review contractor claims, variations, and manage progress assessments to maintain project timelines and budgets
* Collaborate closely with clients, consultants, and subcontractors to drive project success and foster a culture of collaboration and knowledge-sharing
Requirements:
* Hold professional qualifications in engineering, quantity surveying, building services, or construction management
* Possess extensive experience in cost estimation and management of engineering services
* Have a strong technical understanding of building services systems across sectors
* Be able to lead complex projects with minimal supervision and demonstrate strong leadership skills
* Possess excellent client-facing skills and the ability to manage stakeholder expectations and communicate effectively
* Demonstrate advanced proficiency in cost planning software and Microsoft Office
* Hold Australian citizenship or be willing to obtain it due to defence work requirements
