Position: Administration Officer- Student Reception
Commencing Date: 23 June 2025
Tenure: Permanent, Term Time, 38 hours per week
Salary Range: $31.64 - $32.31 per hour pending experience
Closing Date: Monday 9 June unless filled prior

About the role
Good Shepherd Catholic College, Mount Isa are seeking applications from a passionate and reliable Administration Officer to oversee our Student Reception. This is a term time, permanent position commencing on 23 June 2025.
The Administration Officer- Student Reception will be required to liaise with visitors, parents, staff and students to the School and is responsible for providing high level administrative support demonstrating self-initiative, flexibility, attention to detail, autonomy and dependability. The incumbent will present a professional image and create a welcoming, warm and positive impression. As the initial point of contact for many key stakeholders, the Administration Officer will deliver high quality customer service.
Key Accountabilities

* Support the delivery of operational tasks associated with reception and administration including:
* Oversee student reception
* Provide support to parent reception
* Mail management and distribution
* Responding to incoming telephone and email enquiries
* Dealing professionally with and directing enquiries of parents, visitors and contractors
* Data entry to support registers and record management.
* Provide administration support that meets the day to day requirements of the school including:
* Co-ordinate dissemination of information to staff and students
* Production of documents – letters, registers, spreadsheets
* Assist in the production of internal and external documents
* Sort, prepare and file documents as required
* Coordinate banking and receipting of items.
* Support the delivery of tasks associated with community events and school functions
* Responsible for following up on outstanding retreat, camp and excursion payments
* Administer first aid where necessary
* Monitor inventory for stationery and first aid supplies
* Jointly oversee Uniform Shop
* Interchangeable with Student Reception when required

About you
Experience
* Previous experience providing generalist administrative support
* Demonstrated capacity to organise and prioritise a range of tasks and set priorities to meet deadlines in a busy office environment
* Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver support
* Proven ability in providing accurate and informative assistance to staff, students and parents confidently.
Skills
* Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and embrace new ideas with enthusiasm
* Strong computer literacy skills with the ability to operate a variety of platforms and programs including Google and Microsoft Office (especially excel spreadsheets)
* Organisational planning and coordination skills including the ability to demonstrate flexibility and manage demanding or competing deadlines.

Mandatory Criteria
* Current Working with Children Suitability Card - The successful candidate will require a paid Blue Card before commencement as per the No Card, No Start policy developed by Queensland Government
* Minimum certificate level or higher qualification or equivalent relevant experience
* First Aid Certificate or the ability to attain one
* Ability to perform the physical requirements of the role in a safe manner.
Desirable Criteria
* Recent administration and/or reception experience in a school or other environment.
