Senior Research Officer Role
This position involves leading mixed-methods research initiatives, encompassing ethics, participant recruitment, data collection and analysis.
The Senior Research Officer will collaborate with the team leader of Healing Kids, Healing Families, and Co-director of Embrace at The Kids, to develop a new program of research focused on co-designing professional-development resources that promote culturally safe and intergenerationally trauma-informed practice.
This program aims to strengthen the capacity of mental health professionals to provide effective, respectful and culturally safe care for Aboriginal families affected by historical and ongoing trauma.
Responsibilities include:
* Leading mixed-methods research activities
* Coordinating co-design activities and yarning circles in partnership with the Aboriginal Project Officer
* Developing, testing and refining professional development resources for mental health practitioners
* Producing high-quality research outputs
* Managing project planning, timelines, stakeholder engagement and grant/ethics submissions
The ideal candidate will possess a PhD in a relevant discipline, a strong understanding of culturally safe research and experience working with Aboriginal communities, as well as research experience in mental health, preferably child, youth or trauma-related.
