About The Role: We are seeking a qualified Urban and Regional Planner to support the strategic planning and development of telecommunications infrastructure and service expansion projects. This role will focus on land use planning, infrastructure siting, regulatory approvals, and ensuring alignment with environmental and community considerations.
Key Responsibilities
* Undertake land use and zoning assessments for telecommunications infrastructure, including towers, wireless facilities and network installations;
* Prepare and assess development applications and planning proposals in accordance with relevant legislation and planning schemes;
* Conduct environmental, social and economic impact assessments related to infrastructure deployment;
* Contribute to strategic and regional planning initiatives to support expansion of digital connectivity networks;
* Liaise with local councils, government authorities, stakeholders and community groups regarding planning approvals and infrastructure projects;
* Provide expert advice on planning regulations, policies and compliance requirements;
* Prepare technical reports, planning documentation and submissions;
* Support site selection and feasibility analysis for infrastructure rollout;
* Ensure all developments comply with planning, environmental and regulatory frameworks.
