The CSA Mine is located in Cobar NSW and is Australia’s highest-grade copper mine. The CSA Mine is located 11 kilometres north-west of Cobar, central western New South Wales. At 1.9 kilometres deep, it is one of Australia’s deepest underground mines.
Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week, CSA Mine directly employs over 500 people including contractors.
We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join the Surface Fixed Plant Maintenance team.
In this role you will be responsible for:
- Carrying out maintenance on surface mechanical infrastructure including SAG Mills, horizontal filter Presses, hydraulic plate feeders, conveyors, thickeners, water & slurry pumps, air compressors, flotation cells and agitators.
- Carry out breakdown repairs and troubleshoot mechanical issues.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Collaborate with maintenance planners, supervisors, and other trades.
- Contribute to safety initiatives and continuous improvement processes.
About you:
- Previous experience working with fixed plant equipment in a mining or heavy industrial environment.
- Robust mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and team-based work.
Conditions:
This is a 7/7 roster, offered on a residential or drive-in drive-out (DIDO) basis. If residential is the preferred commute option, relocation costs and a housing subsidy will be provided to assist you in relocating to Cobar. Candidates interested in DIDO will be provided with commute single accommodation and meals at the mine camp.
