Primary objective
Lead the delivery of high quality, client focused services for a range of ICT business systems in the Justice and General Government
portfolio of agencies. Provide strategic advice on digital strategy, contemporary service design and delivery, and innovation for the
portfolio.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Foster a culture of client-centric achievement focused on delivering complex ICT business system solutions for client agencies.
2. Set strategic direction for resource management and oversee the planning, development and delivery of contemporary
business system services and products.
3. Build and maintain effective partnerships with client agencies, colleagues, and other stakeholders to meet strategic corporate
objectives.
4. Provide executive direction and professional leadership to develop a high performing team with the capabilities required to
meet service needs now and into the future.
5. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards and codes of good practice for information management, records
governance, and data protection, while focusing on performance reporting frameworks that monitor, evaluate, and enhance
operational effectiveness.
6. Proactively identify, initiate, and lead strategic projects and initiatives beyond core responsibilities that contribute to the
advancement of business system service delivery, ensuring improved accessibility, efficiency, and user experience for clients.
7. As part of the agency’s leadership group, contribute to and implement DCDD’s strategic direction.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated contemporary knowledge of business system trends and innovations at both a national and international level.
2. Proven experience in strategic thinking, business planning, performance reporting, change management and project
management in a business applications environment.
3. Highly effective communicator with advanced interpersonal and negotiation skills, and experience providing qualified and
technical advice to a range of audiences.
4. An experienced leader, with the ability to grow high performing teams, develop and deliver contemporary digital solutions, and
achieve outcomes aligned with strategic objectives.
5. Sound understanding of public sector frameworks, accountability requirements and policies.
6. Demonstrated work ethic and attitude which emulates DCDD’s values of commitment to service, innovation, ethical practice,
accountability, impartiality and respect.
Desirable
1. Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline, including post-graduate qualifications.
2. Post-graduate qualifications in relevant area e.g. leadership, management, project management
