Hays is currently partnered with one of Geelong’s leading schools to recruit a Payroll Officer in a permanent capacity.

**Your new role** 
This role will provide an efficient payroll service for all campuses by ensuring timely and accurate payment of wages and salaries to employees. 
Responsibilities will include: 
- Preparing and entering timesheet data for fortnightly payroll, including full-time, part-time, and casual employees. 
- Processing fortnightly payroll, including checking payroll information, distributing pay advice, and filing processed information. 
- Supporting the Payroll Specialist with monthly payroll preparation and processing, as required. 
- Setting up new employees in the system in accordance with contracts of employment. 
- Updating and maintaining employee details in the payroll system, i.e., personal details, taxation, superannuation, bank account numbers, etc. 
- Processing Workcover and Income Protection claims accurately and effectively. 
- Providing information as requested and promptly answer payroll/personnel related enquiries from staff, management, and external organisations. 
- Provide advice and reporting to staff on payroll matters and data. 
- Supporting the Payroll Specialist in implementing a fully automated and integrated HRIS. 
- Assisting the Payroll and Employee Engagement Departments with any other duties that may be required by the role. 
**What you'll need to succeed** 
To be considered for this role, you will have: 
- Demonstrated experience in a payroll processing role 
- Knowledge of payroll legislative requirements and award interpretation. 
- Exceptional attention to detail and time management. 
- High level of administrative and organisational skills. 
- Ability to prioritise workload and work to strict deadlines. 
- Ability to work both collaboratively as a member of a team and independently without supervision, when required 
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook 
- Experience with Frontier/iChris/HR21 would be an advantage but is not essential 
- Experience in a school environment will be highly regarded 
**What you'll get in return** 
This role offers you an attractive annual salary of $70-75k plus super, full time hours and an ongoing permanent placement.
