Accountant
WS Remedial Group – Brisbane QLD – Accounting – Full time
Role Purpose
WS Remedial Group is seeking a qualified Accountant to oversee financial reporting, compliance, internal controls, and strategic financial management across our growing construction and remedial services business. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate financial records, statutory compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and supporting executive decision‐making while working closely with external accountants and leadership.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
* Oversee general ledger integrity, reconciliations, and financial controls
* Manage budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow analysis
* Ensure compliance with BAS, tax obligations, payroll oversight, and statutory reporting
* Monitor accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial risk management
* Liaise with external accountants, auditors, and regulatory bodies
* Provide strategic financial analysis and recommendations to management
* Develop and maintain internal financial policies, systems, and controls
* Support business planning, cost control, and profitability improvement initiatives
Performance Standards
* Accurate month‐end reporting delivered within 7 working days
* Zero compliance breaches or late statutory lodgements
* Robust cashflow visibility and budget management
* Financial systems maintained with high accuracy and integrity
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
* CPA or CA qualification preferred
* Minimum 2 years' relevant accounting experience
* Experience in construction, building, or services industries highly regarded
* Robust knowledge of financial compliance, reporting standards, and internal controls
* Proficiency in Xero, Simpro, and Microsoft Excel
Compensation & Location
Full‐time role – Salary: $90,000 – $110,000 base + super. Brisbane QLD location. Immediate start. Pay: From $90,000 per year. Work location: In person.
