We operate a 45-acre property in Picton NSW ****, and look to establish multiple high-value agricultural and commercial activities, including specialty crop production, sustainable farming, value-added product manufacturing, and agritourism services.
The property is also exploring regulated cultivation projects within Australian legal frameworks (e.g., industrial hemp or medicinal plant cultivation), requiring strong compliance and documentation standards.
We are seeking an experienced and proactiveFarm & Operations Managerto establish and oversee daily farm operations, coordinate production activities, manage contractors/seasonal labour, and support the development of new ventures.
Key Responsibilities
A. Farm Operations & Land Management
Establish and oversee farming activities and farm stay day-to-day management of the 45-acre property.
Maintain pastures, fencing, irrigation, sheds, tracks and general farm infrastructure.
Oversee crop production cycles for orchards, native bushfoods, mushroom cultivation, and/or greenhouse production.
Manage small livestock operations (e.g., poultry, alpacas, cattle – depending on final enterprise mix).
Implement regenerative or sustainable farming practices where relevant.
Coordinate contractors for earthworks, fencing, pruning, harvesting or infrastructure projects.
B. Specialty & High-Value Crop Production
Supervise specialty crop production such as mushrooms, cut flowers, or botanicals.
Assist in establishing or expanding high-value crops (e.g., truffles, bushfoods, commercial orchard plantings).
Monitor plant health, soil improvements, pest management and seasonal workflow planning.
C. Beekeeping & Value-Added Production (if applicable)
Assist with hive management, harvesting, extraction and quality control.
Support preparation of value-added products (e.g., honey, infused products, herbs, dried botanicals).
Follow all hygiene and food-handling compliance requirements.
D. Agritourism & Visitor Experience (As Required)
Help prepare the property for farm stays, tours, workshops or event bookings.
Maintain presentation standards for accommodation, gardens and common areas.
Provide customer-facing support during on-farm events or workshops.
