Manufacturing Manager
The Role
We are looking for a hands-on Manufacturing Manager to take full accountability for our manufacturing floor. You aren't just overseeing the work—you are responsible for how the factory performs every single day.
This is a floor-based leadership role. You will spend the majority of your time on the floor with your team of 15–25 staff, ensuring every order is built correctly, technical processes are followed, and bottlenecks are resolved before they impact production.
Who is FitMyCar?
FitMyCar is a manufacturer-to-consumer (M2C) online retailer, producing and distributing a wide range of automotive aftermarket accessories. We are rapidly expanding across Australia, the US, and New Zealand, and are Australia's largest manufacturer of vehicle floor mats.
What You'll Own
* Daily Execution: Turn production plans into finished goods, owning both output volume and final quality.
* Production Coordination: Execute and adjust daily production schedules to maintain workflow efficiency and meet output targets.
* Team Accountability: Lead, train, and resource your team to perform consistently. You set the standard for culture and performance.
* Process Discipline: Ensure SOPs are followed strictly. You rely on structure and systems, not memory.
* Problem Solving: Identify and resolve technical or material issues early—before they escalate.
* Warehouse & Inventory: Oversee the full flow, from raw material stock movement to the storage of finished products.
* Technical Oversight: Manage the scheduling and maintenance of specialized machinery, including heat-related forming, granulating, and industrial sewing/cutting machines.
What We're Looking For
* Proven Production Leadership: Essential experience running manufacturing operations. We need someone who understands manufacturing workflows, not just warehousing.
* Experience Requirements: A minimum of 1-2 years of manufacturing operations leadership experience is required.
* Technical Aptitude: A technical background is highly preferred. You should be comfortable interpreting specifications and perform basic machinery troubleshooting.
* Operational Grit: You are able to step into an existing operation, identify the \"moving parts,\" and take ownership immediately.
* Compliance & Safety: A firm grasp of WHS/OH&S standards within a machine-heavy environment.
* Licensing: A valid Forklift licence is required.
* Comms & Character: You lead firmly without ego, inspire and motivate team members, remain calm under pressure, and take ownership of outcomes, not just tasks.
What Success Looks Like
* Consistency: Production runs smoothly without constant escalation to senior management.
* Quality: First-pass yield is high; errors and rework are systematically reduced.
* Efficiency: Machine downtime is minimized through proactive oversight.
* Reliability: The team follows processes even when you aren't standing over them.
Why This Role Matters
This role is the engine room of our business. As we scale globally, your ability to drive consistency and reduce errors is what enables FitMyCar to grow. You will be the key person responsible for the performance and heartbeat of the factory.
How to Apply
If you have a strong production background and are ready to take full ownership of a technical manufacturing floor, we want to hear from you.
Please note that current Australian work authorisation is required for this position.
(Note: Candidates with only warehouse experience will not be considered for this role; production/manufacturing experience is a mandatory requirement.)
