With an extensive footprint on contract work and clients extending from Mallacoota to east Melbourne for over 40 years, Tequa is seeking suitably qualified and experienced Machine Operators / Labourers to join our growing Civil Construction team, to help deliver upon all Company projects, operations, and planned works in a professional and timely manner.
About the Roles:
We are looking to grow our team, and if you have experience in machine operating, sewer and water, pipelaying, trenching and shoring, deep excavation and general civil labouring you are encouraged to apply.
Works will include pipelaying, operating company plant, machinery, and equipment, as well as undertaking manual labouring tasks as required in the completion of company projects, operations, and planned work.
* Deliver civil work and projects in a timely manner, considering occupational health and safety, environmental, and cost-efficient processes.
* Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external customers to meet expectations.
* Operate various company vehicles, excavators, hydro excavation trucks, trucks, machinery, plant, and equipment within your skill level and license qualifications.
* Be proactive and possess strong communication skills.
* Work effectively within a team environment and contribute to team outcomes.
About you:
* Construction Induction Card.
* Qualifications and experience in operating plant and machinery.
* HR Truck license (desirable, though not essential).
* Deep excavation, trenching and shoring experience desirable.
* Knowledge and experience in the civil/construction industry.
* Excellent communication and customer service skills – the ability to effectively listen and convey information to varying audiences (customers, co‑workers, managers, etc.).
* Accountability to meet project objectives and constraints (get the job done), considering Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental and cost-efficient processes to meet Company requirements.
* A flexible and adaptable approach to delivering workarounds and problem‑solving solutions on the job.
* A positive and proactive 'can do' attitude.
* Strong attention to detail, time management, and organisational skills.
* The ability to get involved, whilst also contributing to a dynamic team environment.
