Position Information
The Senior Psychologist, Education coordinates and professionally supervises a team of school counsellors/school psychologists to deliver high quality psychological services to schools. They work closely with schools, other members of educational services teams and agencies to improve student learning and wellbeing outcomes.
The Senior Psychologist, Education provides professional leadership in the delivery of psychological services to school communities and has a key leadership role as part of the networked specialist centres.
Bletchington Public School is situated in the northern quadrant of the Orange township. The school is highly regarded in the Orange community and offers opportunities for students in band, dance, Schools Spectacular, choir, DaVinci Decathalon, public speaking, debating and a broad range of sports. Bletchington Public School boasts extensive grounds and play spaces, an adjoining public park and school hall.
The school has a current enrolment of 503 students where 19.2% of the school population identify as either Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students. There is a small percentage (2.6%) of students who come from non-English speaking backgrounds. Bletchington Public School caters for students from a broad socio-economic range and has a Family Occupation and Education Index (FOEI) of 115.
The P&C is very active within the school, running a number of regular social and fund-raising activities including the 'Bletchington Bash', 'Welcome Family BBQ', the annual 'Colour Run' and the Clothing Pool. General Selection Criteria

* Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
* Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
* Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
* Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
* Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
* Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
Specific Selection Criteria
In Addition To The General Selection Criteria
* High level knowledge and skills in the provision of psychological assessment, counselling and evidence-based interventions within a school context.
* Demonstrated capacity to lead, clinically supervise and professionally develop school counsellors/school psychologists, including those working towards registration as a psychologist.
* Demonstrated capacity to build and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholders to support the learning and wellbeing of students, including students with complex and diverse needs.
* Demonstrated ability to lead and implement Department of Education priorities and initiatives within the school counselling service and in response to serious incidents
Conditions
* An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
* Successful experience as a school counsellor and registration as a psychologist.
* Ability and willingness to travel between worksites
