Shape the future of technology at SCECS. This is not your typical IT Manager role. We're looking for someone who wants to build, influence and lead – someone equally comfortable setting strategy with the Executive team as they are rolling up their sleeves to solve real problems on the ground.

This is a newly created role, giving you the opportunity to shape our IT environment, systems and digital roadmap from the ground up.
The Opportunity
Reporting to the CFO, you will lead both the strategy and day‐to‐day delivery of IT across the organisation, ensuring our systems are secure, reliable and genuinely support our people.
You'll work across everything from:
* Designing and delivering an IT and digital strategy
* Supporting key platforms like HRIS (ELMO), finance and operational systems
* Strengthening cybersecurity and data protection
* Improving the day‐to‐day technology experience for staff
* Partnering with leaders to solve problems and drive better outcomes through technology

What You'll Be Doing
Strategy & Improvement
* Develop and deliver SCECS' IT strategy and digital roadmap
* Identify opportunities to improve systems, integration and digital capability
* Provide advice to Executive on technology priorities, risks and opportunities
IT Operations
* Oversee IT infrastructure including networks, cloud (Google and Microsoft 365), hardware and systems
* Ensure systems are secure, reliable and fit‐for‐purpose
* Manage system upgrades, maintenance and lifecycle planning
* Respond to and resolve IT issues across head office and services
Cybersecurity & Compliance
* Strengthen cybersecurity practices and protect organisational data
* Maintain policies around information security, privacy and acceptable useMonitor risks and implement proactive solutions
Vendor & Service Management
* Manage IT vendors, contracts and service providers
* Ensure services are high‐quality, responsive and cost‐effective
Support & User Experience
* Provide practical, accessible IT support to staff
* Improve system usability and overall employee experience with technology
* Build digital capability across the organisation
Projects & Transformation
* Lead and support technology projects and system improvements
* Play a key role in various IT platform optimisation and integration
* Partner with Property & Facilities to ensure new sites have fit‐for‐purpose IT infrastructure
About You
You're a practical and strategic IT leader who enjoys variety and ownership.
You bring:
* Experience managing IT systems in a multi-site environment
* Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (Google and Microsoft 365), networking and cybersecurity
* Experience supporting enterprise systems (HR, payroll, finance or rostering)
* Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, practical advice
* Strong stakeholder skills – you build trust easily across all levels
* A hands‐on approach – you're happy to jump in and solve problems when needed
Bonus points if you've worked in:
* Education, childcare, not-for-profit or community sectors
* Environments with distributed or frontline workforces

Requirements
* Tertiary qualifications in IT, Computer Science or similar
* Working With Children Check
* National Police Check
