Newcastle Private Hospital is seeking Registered Nursing applicants to join our Medical Oncology team on a Part-Time basis. The Oncology Unit covers both an Inpatient setting as well as a day oncology area, providing our patients the best possible care during their treatment.

We are a 189-bed, acute, private hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. The hospital has 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15-bed Intensive Care Unit.
Newcastle Private Oncology Department provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care. The service has a 10-bed Inpatient Unit and a 9-chair Day Oncology Service.
We also have a cardiac suite including a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16-bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite including 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery is available for families in the Newcastle region. Newcastle Private Oncology Centre provides specialty care for individuals and their families/carers undergoing all aspects of cancer treatment and care with both an inpatient unit and day infusion lounge.
As a Registered Nurse, your responsibilities will include:
* Undertake acute nursing care in accordance with legislation
* Deliver evidence-based nursing care
* Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team
* Ensure patient and staff safety
* Supervise, direct, and guide nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and AINs to deliver patient care
* Proactively assess the nursing care required to ensure the best possible outcome is achieved for the individual/patient
* Complete all required documentation in accordance with local and national policies
* Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse
* Minimum of 2 years' relevant post-registration experience
* Demonstrated experience working within an acute medical or oncology setting
* Knowledge and application of quality improvement initiatives using research principles to support evidence-based practice, including development of policies and guidelines
* Ability to work effectively in a supportive team
* Ability to advocate for and implement individualized patient-centered care
* Professional manner when working with complex situations
* Advanced communication skills as part of a multi-disciplinary team with a willingness to learn new skills
* Flexibility to a seven-day roster including night duty

If successful, your salary will be based on your relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives' – Enterprise Agreement 2020-2024, ranging from $35.46 to $49.79 per hour.
